Masking tape

Cardboard

How it is done:

  • Before decorating, wash the cushions without conditioner, then dry and iron. Place a piece of cardboard into the cushions to prevent the paint from seeping through. Fix the cushion to the craft surface with masking tape.

Apply a thin layer of adhesive spray to the stencil, leave to dry briefly and position on the cushion with the lightly adhesive side. The exact placement is up to you. Individual sections of the stencil which are not being used can also be masked off.
  • Pour the fabric paint on a paper plate and pick up some paint with the roller or the stippling brush. Then roll or stipple the paint over the stencil. Metallic and glitter colours can be combined or even mixed. Only the 3D paint cannot be mixed.

Then carefully lift the stencil and position in another area if required to continue the design. Caution: Do not place the stencil on wet paint. Dry the paint slightly with a hair dryer first.

Caution: Do not place the stencil on wet paint. Dry the paint slightly with a hair dryer first.
  • Leave the cushions to dry thoroughly (at least 6 hours for 3D paint), then fix the paint as follows: Cover the stencilled areas with baking paper and fix with an iron for 2-3 minutes on a soft surface, applying light pressure.
  • Iron fixing is completed when the paint puffs up and looks matt.
