Welcome home! Vintage signs point the way

Am I in the right place? This decorative, cheeky maze of signs points visitors in the right direction as soon as they enter your home. The individual signs are created with Marabu Chalky Chic chalk paints and can be fixed individually on the wall or in groups on a wide board or wooden pallet with white coating.

How it is done:

Prepare the boards so they are free from grease and dust. Evenly apply the first shade in the desired colour (e.g. Stone Grey) to the surface with a brush or roller and leave to dry thoroughly. Apply the second shade (e.g. Edelweiss), leave to dry and partially sand away the top paint layer with sand paper (sanding technique).
Once again remove any dust and grease from the painted boards. Leave to dry. Print out the desired text on a laser printer as a mirror image. Apply a generous layer of the Transfer Medium to the desired position and the printout, place the text on the board with the printed side down and smooth. Wipe off any excess Transfer Medium. Leave to dry for 2 hours or dry with a hair dryer for 8 minutes.
Moisten the laser printout with a sponge until the paper is soaked. Carefully rub off the wet paper until all paper layers have been removed. Now seal the transferred text on the board with Matt Varnish or Transfer Medium.
