How it is done:

  • First sand the box a little and clean it thoroughly. They should be clean and dust-free in any case.
  • Then cut out suitable pieces for the sides of the box from the Vienna wickerwork.
  • Then cover the working area well and also protect the working environment sufficiently from the spray mist of the paint. It is best to spray outside or provide sufficient ventilation. Carefully remove the spray heads from the cans and remove the red safety valve. Replace the spray heads and caps and shake the cans for 2-3 minutes. Spray with the cans first on newspaper to check that there are no solids in the spray head.
  • Then prime the box with white. Two coats of paint may be necessary. It is important to let the first coat dry and then continue with the second coat. Allow everything to dry well.
  • Meanwhile, the Vienna weave can be sprayed with pastel blue. Here it is important to make sure that the colour is only sprayed thinly on the wickerwork. Also let it dry well.
  • When both the wickerwork and the crate are completely dry, the wickerwork can be attached to the crate with the help of the hot glue gun. It is advisable to apply individual dots of glue to the wickerwork and then quickly place it on the crate and press it on.
