Tips and Tricks

  • If you do not have round wood available, you can also use simple wooden discs or half-round wooden beads.

How it is done:

  • Cover the work area and get the materials ready. Clean the wooden box if necessary and sand it a little. It should be clean, dry and free of dust. Then measure the wine crate. In the center of the crate, there should be a square playing field. Paint the square in the center with GREEN Alkyd paint in pastel purple, and the edges on the right and left in medium yellow. Let the paint application dry well.
  • After drying, divide the board in the middle into 64 (8 x 8) squares and draw the lines using a set square and a pencil.
  • The playing field can now be masked off with masking tape so that every second playing field can be painted with the GREEN Alkyd paint in violet. Allow the paint to dry well and remove the masking tape.
  • Carry out step 3 one row at a time. In this way, you can then paint all the other squares in purple. And the checkerboard pattern is ready.
  • Saw off 24 equal-sized slices from a round log and sand them down, especially on the edges.
  • Paint 12 tiles with GREEN alkyd paint in pastel purple, the other 12 with alkyd paint in violet. The edges of the tiles can still be painted in medium yellow. After drying, the board game is ready!
