waste glass with screw cap
air-drying modeling clay
hammer, nail
small knife

How it is done:

  • Roll out the air-drying modeling clay to a thickness of approx. 3-4 mm and place it around the glass. If necessary, cut the modeling clay into pieces and blend the overlapping edges by hand with a little water. Press the modeling clay firmly against the glass so that no air bubbles are trapped. Leave the screw cap at the top of the jar free so that the lid still fits.
  • Use a nail and a hammer to hammer a slit into the lid of the old jar to insert the money. Then cover the outside of the lid with a piece of modeling clay that has been rolled out flat and is also approx. 3-4 mm thick and cut the slit into the modeling clay.
  • Roll out a slightly thicker piece of modeling clay (approx. 5 mm thick) and cut out a flower shape that is about 2 cm larger in diameter than the screw-top jar lid. Cut a slit in this too, which fits exactly over the one in the lid.
  • As soon as the modeling clay has dried according to the instructions on the pack, it can be painted with GREEN alkyd paint. Select the pastel purple color as a primer for all elements and apply the paint in two coats using the largest brush from the GREEN brush set.
  • Use a thinner brush from the GREEN brush set to paint the glass part of the money box with lines in purple.
  • The flower is also designed with a purple edge and a central section in apricot. Once the paint is completely dry, the flower is glued onto the lid with a perfect fit. Finally, screw the flower lid onto the money box and the saving can begin.
