Hanging Christmas arrangement with Marabu do it and Colorado Gold

Christmas is the most beautiful time of the year and of cherished traditions. Of course, this also includes Christmas arrangements. But it doesn’t always have to stand on the table in the classic way; it can hang from the ceiling in a modern design. A stylish version with fine gold and blue tones and eucalyptus branches embellishes the Christmas season this year.

Tips and Tricks

  • After spraying, turn the do it cans upside down and spray the riser tube empty until only gas comes out so that the valve is not blocked.

How it is done:

  • Prepare all working materials and, if necessary, sand the wooden rings and the board a little so that the paint adheres better. The wooden parts should be clean, dry and dust-free before designing.
  • First mark the glue or saw marks. Mark 2 points exactly opposite each other on both wooden rings with a pencil. On ring 1 these are saw marks and on ring 2 they are glue marks. Tip: The points opposite each other are determined with the help of a felled plumb bob (e.g. tie a wooden ball to a string).
  • Cut ring 1 into 2 semicircles at the marks. Do not saw exactly on the marking, but exactly as many mm to the left and right of it as the rings are thick. A small piece is therefore sawn out of ring 1 at the top and bottom. This is important because the two semicircles will be glued to the other ring in the next step and otherwise a slightly deformed spherical shape would result.
  • In the next step, cover the adhesive marks on ring 2 with narrow adhesive tape.
  • Cover the spraying area well and also protect the working environment sufficiently from the spray mist of the paint. It is best to spray outside or provide sufficient ventilation. Carefully remove the spray heads from the cans and remove the red safety valve. Replace the spray heads and caps and shake the cans for 2-3 minutes. Spray with the cans first on newspaper to check that there are no solids in the spray head.
  • Now you can spray the rings and the wooden plate to cover them. Let everything dry well and remove the tape from ring 2.
  • While the wooden plate and the rings are drying, the wooden balls can be painted with Colorado Gold. Stir the paint well, put the balls on a wooden skewer or a cotton bud and paint them with a brush. Allow the balls to dry well.
  • Glue the dried half circles to the complete ring 2 with hot glue. Use the previously marked points as a guide. Allow the glue to dry well.
  • Insert the round wooden board and fix it with hot glue at the 4 support points. Allow the glue to dry well.
  • Tie a hanger made of string and thread on the painted wooden balls.
  • Finally, decorate as desired with twigs, candles and Christmas accessories and hang up.
