A Colourful Collage Reminiscent of Istanbul!
An oriental play of colours with collage elements in a “Mixed Media” style – very simple to create with Marabu Art Crayon! You can mix it!

How it is done:
- To prepare, cover the worktop generously with plastic film. Prime the background with Marabu Acryl Color and a wide brush, e.g. Marabu Decoration & Hobby. Then mix White with each of the desired shades (e.g. Ultramarine Blue, Black, Violet, Cherry Red and Yellow) to create colour transitions with solid and pastel shades. These can additionally be blended together with a painting sponge. Leave the background to dry.
- Then stencil with the Marabu Silhouette Stencils "Primrose" and "Star Collection". Use a stencilling brush or a painting sponge to stencil with Marabu Acryl Color. Stipple the paint lightly across the design.
- When stencilling with Marabu Art Spray, only spray across the stencils lightly to prevent the thin paint from seeping underneath the stencil.
- Cut out Middle Eastern inspired images and corresponding texts from magazines and old books. Use a brush and Marabu Collage Glue to embed the sections in the artwork. Alternatively, the paper can be adhered with craft glue.
- Create a circle with Marabu Art Crayon in White and smudge it with your finger. Write the name of the city (here: Istanbul) in the circle with Marabu Deco Painter in Black.
- Create a cloud texture with Marabu Acryl Mousse in White and Marabu Acryl Color in Ultramarine Blue and Leaf Green, embedding “Istanbul” in the circle.
- Adhere other Middle Eastern images, seagulls and headlines from Turkish newspapers.
- Use the tip of the Marabu Art Painter in Chilli to stipple patterns (e.g. in the shape of a star).
- Add further embellishments (e.g. pictures and lettering) with Marabu Art Crayon.
- Apply Marabu Acryl Paste in Gold and Marabu Acryl Paste Glitter-Gold with a paint knife or brush.
- Stencil the Marabu Art Stencil "Retro Flowers" in different places.
- Add more lettering and embellishments in different colours as desired.
