white cotton socks (max. 20% synthetic fiber)

small tub or plastic sheet

rubber gloves

water atomizer

How it is done:

Have all the materials ready and cover the work surface thoroughly. Before dyeing, wash the socks in the washing machine to remove any finish.
Use a water spray bottle to moisten both sides of the socks.
Grab the socks with both hands, fold them into small pieces, and crumple them up. Then, secure each small packet with a rubber band.
Place the socks in the tub to protect the surrounding area from the dye. Shake the tie-dye ink bottles with the caps closed to evenly distribute the color pigments. Apply the colors directly to the socks as desired. Make sure to cover the socks with dye on all sides.
Then, knead the tie dye ink into the fabric until it is evenly distributed. Next, remove the rubber bands and unfold the socks.
Hang the socks to dry.
The color can be set by drying it in an oven for eight minutes at 150°C or by using a hot iron for three minutes at the cotton setting. It is then washable at up to 40°C.
