How it is done:

  • Cover the work area and prepare the materials. Drill a hole in the center of the metal lid. This is where the straw can be inserted later, so it should be slightly larger than the diameter of the straw.
  • Frame the hole from the outside with a little hot glue so that its sharp edge is evened out.
  • Still carefully clean the lids before painting. They must be clean, free of grease and dry. Then prime with GREEN alkyd paint in cream beige. Let the paint dry well and apply a second coat of paint if the first one is not opaque enough. Allow the second coat to dry well as well.
  • Paint patterns on the lids with the colored GREEN alkyd paints, for example wavy lines in the colors of the rainbow. Start here with the lightest color, medium yellow, and gradually work your way up to the darkest color, dark green.
  • Allow the paint application to dry for at least 3 hours at the end. After that, the GREEN alkyd paint is waterproof. That is, the painted lids can be carefully cleaned with a damp cloth, but can not be put in the dishwasher.
