Light cotton fabric (max. 20% synthetic fibre content)
Needle and thread
Fabric glue
Hair bobble

How it is done:

  • Before painting, wash the fabric without softener and iron. Next, trim two pieces of fabric measuring approx. 60 x 20 cm to give them a straight edge.
  • Use the Textil plus paint and the Textil Painter plus paint markers to decorate the two pieces of fabric with a spring-like floral pattern, brushing on the Textil plus paint to create flowers and leaves. Shake the Painter markers well before use, then remove the cap and pump the tip on a neutral surface a few times until the ink becomes visible. The Painter markers can then be used to add little design features like dots. Leave the paint to dry then fix the dried paint in the oven at 150 °C for approx. eight minutes.
  • Once the paint has been fixed, fold over the edges of the two pieces of fabric by about 1 – 2 cm and iron flat.
  • Now turn the two pieces of fabric into tubes by applying a little fabric glue to the lower edge of the painted side.
  • Leave the fabric glue to dry slightly then fold the lower edge up to the top and press on firmly to create a tube.
  • Invert the fabric tubes and place them one on top of the other in a cross shape with the seam of the top tube facing down and the seam of the bottom tube facing up.
  • Fold the two ends of each strip together to create a knot in the middle.
  • Now thread the hair bobble onto one of the tubes then sew the two ends of the first tube together.
  • Finally, thread the hair bobble onto the other tube and sew the two ends of that together too.
