Tips and Tricks

  • The watercolour effect can also be achieved on watercolour paper or canvas. Simply paint the wet YONO Marker colour application with a wet brush.

How it is done:

  • Before painting, wash the cushion cover without fabric softener to remove any finishes. Allow to dry and iron. Cover the work area well and prepare the work materials. Wrap a piece of cardboard in foil and slide it into the cushion cover so that the paint does not rub off onto the back.
  • Before first use, shake the YONO marker with the cap closed for 60 seconds. The mixing ball in the marker makes a clacking sound. Slowly press the tip in several times on a piece of test paper until ink is visible. When the ink flow is activated, the tip slowly fills up. When the tip is full of ink, write the marker on the test paper.
  • Draw wild circles on the cushion cover with the YONO marker. The lines may look like the contours of a flower. If you are unsure, you can also draw the motif a few times on a piece of paper first to test it.
  • Now brush over the flower lines on the cushion cover with a wet brush. The YONO marker will dissolve again and spread into the textile fabric like a watercolour. (Please do not immerse the YONO Marker in water).
  • Allow the cushion cover to dry well. After drying, the contours of the flower lines can be highlighted again with a YONO marker in black.
  • Finally, write e.g. HELLO SPRING on the cushion cover. You can also print out a template and insert it into the cushion cover. With light-coloured cushion covers, the template shines through and can easily be traced with the YONO marker.
  • To fix the colours, place the cushion cover in the oven at 150°C for 8 minutes.
