Herr Letter’s Cactus Shirt with Marabu Textil Screen Printing

Herr Letter is a big fan of plants and flowers! Why not print a plant on a T-shirt? Herr Letter first dyed the shirt with Fashion Color and then printed a summery cactus motif with the Screen Printing Textile Set. The print motif is simply cut out of paper. Herr Letter then of course decorated the shirt with a matching lettering.

Tips and Tricks

  • After fixation the paints on your shirt are wash resistant up to 40° C. Wash and iron from the left.

How it is done:

  • Dye the white T-shirt with Marabu Fashion Color according to the instructions for use and then wash it.
  • Print the pattern and cut it out with scissors or a cutter.
  • Then tape the cut out motive on the flat side of the screen printing frame.
  • Slide a piece of paper or cardboard into the shirt to protect the backside. In the next step, place the screen printing frame on the textile and apply the Textil Print paint generously.
  • Use the squeegee to apply the ink at first loosely from top to bottom and then repeat the whole process with pressure. Then carefully lift off the frame and clean it with some soap and water.
  • With a little paint and a brush the cactus gets some more spines. Leave the motif to dry and decorate it with a matching lettering at the end.
  • In the end, the paints should be cured to make them washing resistant. Either iron for 3 minutes at cotton temperature (through a thin cloth) or cure in the oven (8 min./150 °C).
