How it is done:

  • The jeans must be light-coloured and free from finishes and fabric softener. You should therefore wash them without softener before spraying them. Carefully cover the working surface with plastic sheeting or paper. Shake the Fashion-Spray before use and spray 2 – 3 times on a neutral surface (e.g. paper). Shake the Fashion-Spray before use and spray 2 – 3 times on a neutral surface (e.g. paper).
  • The extraordinary crumpled look on the trouser legs is achieved using a PET bottle. Slide the bottle inside the first trouser leg and gather the fabric along the bottle to create lots of creases. Secure the bottle with masking tape to prevent it from slipping. Now spray the first trouser leg with the Marabu Fashion-Spray in apple. Leave the paint to dry, then remove the masking tape and pull the PET bottle out of the trouser leg. Repeat the process for the second trouser leg.
  • Tip: The effect is even more pronounced if the upper part of the trousers is sprayed in black from both sides. You can also spray the trouser legs in sunshine yellow to give them an even jazzier design.
  • Twist the fabric on both trouser legs into a spiral and tie thread tightly around as many sections of the legs as you like. Next, starting at the bottom, spray the trouser legs with Marabu Fashion-Spray in black. Leave to dry, then remove the thread.
  • Tip: Tie thread around the trouser legs again to create another pattern. Now spray with a second colour (in our example, grey). The patterns will become finer each time more thread is tied around the legs and there will be fewer unsprayed sections. Leave to dry again and finally remove all thread.
  • After drying, either iron the sprayed fabric from the front through a thin cloth or a sheet of baking paper for 3 minutes on a cotton setting without steam or fix in a pre-heated oven for 8 minutes at 150 °C. Check the heat resistance of the fabric first. The jeans are then machine washable at up to 40 °C. Always wash inside out.
