Cherry blossom structured art with Marabu Structure Paste

Cherry blossoms symbolize beauty, new beginnings and the arrival of the first warm season of the year. Cherry blossoms can be beautifully staged on a stretcher frame with Structured Art. Marabu Textured Paste and Acrylic Color give the cherry blossoms an extraordinary look.

How it is done:

  • The first step is to mix Leaf Green acrylic color with white and black to create a subtle, light gray-green and apply it to the canvas with a thick, soft brush as a primer. Individual areas can be made lighter or darker to add a little more vibrancy.
  • When the primer is dry, draw the shape of the branch with a pencil.
  • The branch can then be painted in with a fine, soft brush. To do this, paint the base with the dark brown acrylic color and then add subtle accents with the light medium brown.
  • Once the branch is dry, the flowers can be applied. The fine sand texture paste is colored with cherry red acrylic color and then applied in the form of individual petals with a paint knife. For a really lively result, the texture paste was colored in different shades and also combined with the pure white texture paste (without coloring).
  • Once the texture paste has hardened, the flowers can also be painted with Acryl Color. In the example, flower stamps in ochre and sand have been added.
