Tips and Tricks

  • Once the marbling paint has dried, individual sections of the eggs can be decorated with Colorado Gold Metallic Paint. This gives the eggs a shimmering sheen and the contrast with the marbling pattern provides an additional eye-catcher.

How it is done:

  • First clean the eggs or the wooden tags. They should be clean, dry and dust-free. If necessary, prime the wooden pendants with Decormatt in white before marbling and let them dry well.
  • Cover the work area with paper or foil and prepare the materials for marbling. First fill a container with cold water and impale the dried pendants or eggs firmly on a wooden stick. Finally, put on disposable gloves and shake the colours well.
  • Then drop a few drops of each colour in turn directly from the jar into the water. The marbling colour spreads over the surface of the water.
  • Now it should be quick: use a wooden skewer to carefully draw a marbling pattern in the layer of paint on the surface of the water.
  • Slowly dip the egg or pendant through the pattern into the water. The film of paint floating on the surface wraps around the eggs or pendants. To avoid colour overlaps when pulling out, blow the colour residues on the water surface towards the edge. Then quickly pull out the eggs or pendants and place them upright in a container to dry.
  • Before the next egg or pendant is marbled, the water surface must be cleaned. The best way to do this is with a piece of paper. Simply skim off the paint residue with the paper until the water surface is clean again. Then you can continue!
