IT’S EASY WHEN YOU KNOW HOW!

  • If you want to carry on using the dye and start some more projects, you can store the easy colour dye solution for several days in a clean, closed container. Heat the dye solution to at least 40 °C before using it again. The higher the temperature, the more intense the dye result.

How it is done:

  • In order to dye the thread, firstly bring approx. 3-5 litres of water to the boil and stir in the easy colour dye. Then add 1 tablespoon of salt per litre of water and dissolve.
  • Turn off the hob and place the damp thread into the saucepan. Leave the thread to absorb the dye for at least 20 minutes. During this time, it must be moved about constantly.
  • After dyeing the thread, rinse it in cold water until the water runs clear. Then let the thread dry thoroughly before continuing. Cut a piece of thread that is approx. 30 cm long and approx. 26 30 pieces of thread that are approx. 10 cm long.
  • Double over the long piece of thread and start to knot two short pieces of thread in a row as shown in the image.
  • Keep doing this row by row and slide the individual knots together.
  • The next step is to fray the ends of the thread. You can use a pet grooming brush to do this.
  • Then, cut out the feather shape using scissors.
