Lay figure plant stand with Marabu acrylic paints

Air plants don’t need much: just light, air and a little water. That leaves plenty of room for creative ideas! In this case, we have placed a tillandsia in the loving hands of a painted lay figure. Now spray the air plant with a little water from time to time and it is in the best of hands!

Tips and Tricks

  • The acrylic paints are weatherproof. The air plant can be sprayed with water without hesitation. If necessary, dry the lay figure with a cloth after wetting the plant.

How it is done:

  • First, use the pencil to divide the upper body and lower body of the lay figure in the middle.
  • Stir the acrylic paints well and then prime the areas that are to be coloured with white. It is recommended not to paint the ball joints of the doll and to leave them natural.
  • Once the white primer has dried, the surfaces can be designed in the desired colour. For an opaque result, a further layer of paint can be applied if necessary. Allow the first layer to dry thoroughly.
  • When the painted lay figure is completely dry, glue on the Tillandsie with a special glue (acid-free and waterproof).
