Tips and Tricks

  • To protect the painting from scratches, the plates can be painted with Marabu spray paint.

How it is done:

  • First unscrew the metal plates from the plant stand, as this makes it easier to work on the individual parts.
  • Cover the working area well and also protect the working environment sufficiently from the spray mist of the paint. It is best to spray outside or provide sufficient ventilation. Have the frame ready. It should be clean and dry.
  • Carefully pull the spray heads off the cans and remove the red safety valve. Replace the spray heads and caps and shake the cans for 2-3 minutes. Spray the cans on newspaper first to check that there are no solids in the spray head.
  • Then spray the wooden frame with Marabu do it. For an even result without drips or runners, observe the spraying distance. It is best to work with 2 sprays and allow a short drying time between sprays. Finally, allow the frame to dry well and design the plates in the meantime.
  • Clean the plates before designing. They should be clean and dry. Draw the pattern with the help of a stencil and a pencil. It can be helpful here to attach the stencil to the plates with some tape.
  • Then remove the stencil and, before using the YONO marker for the first time, shake it with the cap closed for 60 seconds and gently press the tip into some paper several times to activate the ink flow. Write the marker on a piece of paper, then the motif can be designed with different colours as desired. Afterwards, let the ink application dry well.
  • Finally, carefully reassemble and decorate the plant stand.
