Vintage jewellery box with Marabu Chalky Chic

How it is done:

• First, remove the wooden heart from the lid and the clasp from the box with the help of a screwdriver. You can now paint the box with the chalk paint, starting with the exterior. To achieve a vintage look, you need to apply two coats using two different colours. Apply the second once the first has dried and then leave the whole thing to dry. Take a piece of sandpaper and sand the box unevenly and at random to allow the first coat to show through and create a vintage look. You can now reattach the clasp.
• Cut five equally sized pieces (13.5 x 25 cm) from an old towel. Roll each of these up and place them inside the box close together.
• It’s now time to cover the towels. Cut a piece of fabric that is 13.5 cm x 42 cm. Place this over the pieces of towel inside the box and push it right down into the individual crevices to create an even wave effect. Use the box’s wooden heart as a stencil to trace a heart onto a piece of decorative paper. Cut it out. Finally, the paper heart is attached to the front of the wooden heart, which is then returned to the lid.
