Tips and Tricks

  • Always close the YONO marker tightly with a clear click after use and store it horizontally.

How it is done:

  • Before painting, wash the cushions without fabric softener to remove any finishes. Allow to dry and iron. Cover the work area well, print out or sketch the pattern, have the working materials ready and put on a painting smock if necessary.
  • Slide the template into the cushion. The paper serves as protection so that the ink does not bleed through to the reverse side. In addition, the contours shine through and can be transferred very easily.
  • Before first use, shake the YONO marker with the cap closed for 60 seconds. The mixing ball in the marker makes a clacking sound. Slowly press the tip in several times on a piece of test paper until ink is visible. When the ink flow is activated, the tip slowly fills up. When the tip is full of ink, write the marker on the test paper.
  • Then the floral motif can be transferred to the cushion. For an even application of colour, regularly pump the YONO marker on a sheet of paper.
  • Place the desired textile colour shades on a mixing palette. All colours can be mixed. If the perfect shade is not available, the shades can be mixed together.
  • Then design the coloured areas with different textile colours. The YONO motif should be retained, do not paint over it.
  • Allow the paint application to dry well afterwards.
  • After drying, the motif details can still be painted into the textile colour areas with the YONO marker.
  • After drying, iron the cushion from the front through a thin cloth at cotton temperature for 3 min (without steam) or fix in the oven for 8 min at 150 °C (follow manufacturer's instructions).
