IT’S EASY WHEN YOU KNOW HOW!

  • The easy colour dye liquor can be stored for several days in a clean, closed container. Before dyeing again, heat the dye liquor to at least 40°C. The higher the temperature, the more intensive the dyeing. The higher the temperature, the more intense the colouring.

How it is done:

  • The first step is to wet some of the macramé yarn in a bowl with water.
  • Then pour boiling water into a pot or large bowl. Add the easy colour batik dye and a little salt and then place the moistened yarn in the dye bath.
Pay attention to the proportions: For an intensive dyeing, about 3-5 litres of water should be used for 150 g of fabric. Add 1 tablespoon of salt per 1 litre of water.
The yarn should remain in the dye bath for at least 20 minutes and be moved constantly. Afterwards, rinse the dyed yarn with cold water and spread it out to dry.
  • When the yarn is completely dry, individual pieces of both the dyed and the natural yarn are cut to size and attached to a wooden ring with a simple loop knot (anchor stitch). The number of pieces of yarn and their length depends on the yarn used and the diameter of the wooden ring.
  • Once the ring is completely knotted, thread some jute yarn through the ring. Then thread two wooden beads of different sizes onto the two ends and fix them with a knot.
  • Now a brush is used to dissolve the yarns into their individual threads.
  • Then cut the dissolved yarn into the shape of the angel using small scissors. Finally, you can fix the macramé angel with a little hairspray so that it stays in shape.
