Tips and Tricks

Before fixing the colour in the oven, check that the hat has heat-resistant accessories.

How it is done:

Before painting, wash the fabric hat without using fabric softener to remove any finish. Leave the hat to dry, then iron if necessary.
First, paint the brim of the hat. Use simple, summery shapes, such as waves.
Draw suns, palm trees or coral.
Then decorate the top of the hat. Leave to dry thoroughly.
Once dry, iron each painted area of the hat for three minutes at a cotton setting, or heat in a preheated oven for eight minutes at 150°C. The paint will then be washable at temperatures of up to 60 °C.
