Did you know?

  • The contours of a Window Color motif can also be replaced by a simple wire. Simply bend a craft wire into the desired shape using decorative pliers. Place the wire shape on several layers of thin household foil. Make sure that there is no space between the wire and the foil. If necessary, place the foil on a padded surface so that the wire can be pressed on better. Now fill the inside of the wire form with Marabu Window Color. Allow to dry well and remove the wire form from the foil.

How it is done:

  • Have all the working materials ready. Place the design template under the painting foil, adhesive foil or mobile foil.
  • What is the difference between a painting film, an adhesive film and a mobile film? And when is which film used? We will be happy to explain the difference in the next steps.
  • If the Window Color motifs are to be removable from the film after drying, we recommend using plastic films made of polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP), such as special Window Color painting films or commercially available transparent sleeves.
  • An adhesive film is a self-adhesive film. It is suitable for large-area or filigree Window Color motifs, as the paint bonds with the film. After drying, the motif can be cut out together with the adhesive foil and attached to the window, for example. This gives the large-area or filigree motif more stability.
  • For mobiles, pinwheels must be worked with a so-called pinwheel or mobile film. This strong, stable film also combines directly with the paint. Here, too, the motifs are cut out after drying. However, this film does not adhere to smooth surfaces. Therefore, the film with the Window Color motif can be further processed into stable decorative objects.
  • No matter which foil is used, the contours must first be traced with Window Color contour paint directly from the painting bottle. Then let the contour paint dry on the foil for one to two hours.
  • After drying, the surfaces can be painted with the desired Window Color shades. Apply the color directly from the paint bottle until it reaches the contour lines. Allow everything to dry for approx. 24 hours.
  • Finally, peel off the Window Color image or cut it out with the film. Apply by lightly pressing the Window Color image or adhesive film on all smooth surfaces and remove again. As often as you want!
