1. Wash textiles without fabric softener. Cut a piece of cardboard into the shape of a foot or a suitable sole size and insert into the socks to prevent the paint from transferring to the other side.
2. Shake bottle vigorously for at least 30 seconds and apply paint to a kitchen towel first.
3. Apply paint generously directly from the bottle (several times if necessary). Dry in a flat position, approx. 24 h (depending on the motif size). Always wash painted items inside out.
Wash items (cotton and mixed fabrics up to max. 20% synthetic fibre content) without fabric softener before use to wash out any finish. Socks, bath mats, etc. can be designed completely freely, without a special or predetermined motif. Simply paint the item with one or more shades of paint however you like.
Wash items (cotton and mixed fabrics up to max. 20% synthetic fibre content) without fabric softener before use to wash out any finish. Choose a stencil and place it on the fabric. Colour in the stencil using any Sock Stop paint. Carefully lift off the stencil and wash it immediately in cold water.3D effect
A great 3D effect can be created by applying several layers of paint. First apply the chosen design and allow it to dry. Then paint over the design again with the same colour and let it dry thoroughly. If you like, you can repeat this process once more.
Wash out finish / pre-wash fabrics
New fabrics must be washed at least once without fabric softener before painting. Finishes and fabric softeners prevent the colour from penetrating the fibres, so adhesion is not guaranteed after fixing. Double-sided items
When painting double-sided items, always place a piece of cardboard between the fabric layers so that the paint does not bleed through. This also makes painting on fabric easier, especially for children. Suitable fabrics
With Marabu Sock Stop you can paint any fabrics that do not contain any finishes or fabric softeners up to a maximum of 20% synthetic content. The paint is not only suitable for socks but also for home textiles such as placemats, rugs and bath mats. Apply from the bottle
The special cap of the 90ml bottle allows paint to be easily applied directly from the bottle. In order to achieve the best possible colour result, shake the paint vigorously for approx. 30 seconds and apply it to kitchen paper beforehand. Fixing fabric paint
Special fixing is not necessary for Marabu Sock Stop. Simply allow the sock to dry flat for around 24 hours (depending on the size of the design).Washing painted fabrics
Always wash painted fabrics inside out with a detergent suitable for delicates. Do not tumble dry or iron.
Combination with other Marabu colours
Marabu Sock Stop can be combined with many Marabu textile colours. It is important that the textile is free of finishes and fabric softener. In addition, Sock Stop can only be applied to a colour-free surface, the textile colours to be combined can be applied around it.
Poor adhesion on the item
What can be the cause of poor adhesion of Marabu Sock Stop?
It is important that only pre-washed and therefore finish-free fabrics are painted. Paints must be completely dry before washing, about 24 hours (depending on the size of the design). Always wash painted fabrics inside out with a detergent suitable for delicates. Do not tumble dry or iron. Difference between Sock Stop and Pluster Pen
Is there a difference between Marabu Sock Stop and Marabu Pluster Pen for making socks non-slip?
Yes. The rubber-like paint formulation of Marabu Sock Stop was specially developed to achieve a non-slip effect on smooth surfaces. In contrast to the Marabu Pluster Pen, Sock Stop does not have to be fixed, it is sufficient to let the paint dry by leaving flat.
